To qualify for assistance as a small business, the business must have less than 100 employees, release less than 75 tons of all regulated air pollutants and release less than 50 tons of any single regulated air pollutant.

The Florida SBEAP provides compliance assistance with environmental regulations. You may download our SBEAP Trifold Brochure or email a request for our brochure detailing the services of the SBEAP.  If you request our brochure, be certain to include your physical address so that it can be properly mailed. You may also contact the SBEAP office at 1-800-722-7457. This toll free line is meant to answer questions concerning environmental compliance as well as new federal and state air regulations.

Small Business Environmental Assistance Program Hotline Assistance Information Directory

The Florida SBEAP promotes the Pollution Prevention (P2) Act which defines pollution prevention as "source reduction".  Source reduction is defined as any practice which:

  • Reduces the amount of any hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant entering any waste stream or otherwise released into the environment (including fugitive emissions) prior to recycling, treatment, or disposal; and
  • Reduces the hazards to public health and the environment associated with the release of such substances, pollutants, or contaminants.
