This is a Central District Pilot
Project. Other DEP Districts may not accept electronic reports.
Electronic
Reporting is voluntary.
No facility is required to submit
electronic reports
or notices.

Paper (each stack test is about 100 pages)

Time
(no printing and mailing, just attach a file to an e-mail)

Postage (most reports are sent overnight in order to track receipt)

Storage Space (no need for facilities to save printed copies,
electronic copies are legally valid for records retention purposes)

This
office began accepting stack test reports from power plants in
electronic format May 1, 2001.
The project was
expanded August 1, 2003 to include all air reports from all air
facilities, including:

Documents are reviewed in electronic format.

After review, they
are filed in an electronic file cabinet.

Public Records requirements
are met by retention of the electronic documents.
