  • FACT Florida Assessment of Coastal Trends (2000) [pdf - 2.28MB]- The nation's first coastal environmental indicator system.   Available on-line, this document provides a comprehensive perspective of the important environmental, growth management, economic, and social values associated with the coast.  The Assessment of Coastal Trends provides a means of evaluating Florida's progress in protecting its coastal areas; a basis for making strategic decisions about programs and financial resources; and information about coastal issues and problems to other decision-makers and the general public.
  • Florida State of the Coast Report (1998) [pdf - 3.17MB] The companion to FACT is the State of the Coast, a report in which provides an opportunity to evaluate and address certain key trends and conditions of indicators identified in the FACT.
  • 1990 Coastal Population in Florida - A Report to Florida's Coastal Managers [pdf - 6.04MB]- by James W. May, documents population growth within 10 miles of the coast and the population totals of coastal islands. 
  • Sand in my Shoes (1995) - a guide to living with Florida's Coast.  This book provides a brief explanation of Florida's coastal resources.  It describes how they work, what public programs exist to protect them and - most importantly - what you can do on a personal level and in your community.
  • Building in Paradise (1997)  - a brochure outlining some of the ways coastal construction differs from inland development and questions to ask when building and living on Florida's coasts.
  • Purchasing Paradise (1997) - a companion brochure to Building in Paradise, provides information on how to wisely choose your coastal property in order to minimize the chances of personal injury and property damage and suggestions on how to be a good environmental steward.
  • FCMP Project Directory 1993 to 1998 [pdf - 5.01MB]- describes innovative coastal projects funded by the Florida Coastal Management Program.   The Directory is meant to share information on coastal projects with others working on coastal management issues in hopes the information is useful in developing, planning or implementing specific improvements in other local communities.
  • The 1998 Florida Coastal Program Guide - provides basic information on the Federally Approved Florida Coastal Management Program and includes descriptions of the federally approved coastal zone boundary, federal consistency process and lists the Program's enforceable policies.
  • The 1998 FCMP Reference Book - a companion to the Program Guide listing applicable implementing rules, maps of management areas, and examples of items subject to Federal Consistency.
