CAMA is in the process of updating site specific management plans. The Management Plan review process provides for multiple opportunities to receive vital input from an advisory committee and the public. A draft plan is produced and available for review and comment.

About the GTM Reserve

• The GTM Reserve (Guana - Tolomato - Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve) was established in 1999.
• The reserve contains over 60,000 acres of protected lands.
• The coastal waters of the GTM Reserve are important calving grounds for the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.
• The Reserve is geographically separated into a northern section where the Tolomato and Guana Rivers mix with the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, and a southern section along the Matanzas River, extending from Moses Creek to south of Pellicer Creek.
• The GTM Reserve contains 14 conservation areas, cooperatively managed by local, state and federal agencies.
