St. Marks Formation

The St. Marks Formation is a white to yellowish gray, sandy, fossiliferous Lower Miocene (see time scale) marine limestone. It is exposed in sinks and streambeds in Wakulla, Leon and western Jefferson Counties. Mollusk molds and casts are often abundant.
