List of Appraisers or Reviewers by
County
Overview
The primary focus of the bureau is to obtain appraisals for use in land
acquisition programs of the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement
Trust Fund such as
Florida Forever,
Office of Greenways and Trails, and Recreation and Parks. The
bureau hires independent fee appraisers to conduct the majority of the
appraisals and appraisal reviews used in this process. In addition,
appraisals are obtained as a decision making tool in the disposition
of state owned lands. All appraisals and appraisal reviews conducted
for the bureau for acquisition or disposition of state owned lands must
be conducted by appraisers on the Division of State Lands Approved Appraiser
List per FAC 18-1.007(2). Application form to be included
on this list. [PDF]
The bureau has also been entrusted with obtaining appraisals when
land is acquired for various other state agencies and programs such
as Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Department of
Education, and circuit courts.
The rules and laws governing the procedures for the Bureau of Appraisal
are located in Chapter
253.025 and

& Constitution, as well as
Florida
Administrative Code (FAC) 18-1 [PDF].

Cruise/ Timber Appraisal Standards [PDF]
The Division of Forestry of the Department of Agriculture and the
Division of State lands of the Department of Environmental Protection,
with technical advice from professional Foresters and Appraisers, have
produced a manual with guidelines designed to provide procedural and
reporting standards for timber cruise and timber appraisals for the
State of Florida. These standards represent the first known effort in
this country to codify a set of professional standards and guidelines
for foresters and fee appraisers for the completion of timber appraisals.
