CCA Treated Wood and Other Technical Changes to Chapter 62-701, F.A.C.

The Department has held one rule workshop on July 29, 2003 to address management of chromated copper arsenate (CCA) wood wastes in Florida and to make other technical changes to the rule. Information about this past workshop and other relevant presentations are posted below. The next steps in this rulemaking effort will be posted when they are available.

Industrial Waste Disposal and Reuse Rulemaking Plans

The Department has held one rule workshop on July 30, 2003 to advise interested parties about the Department's plans to develop the industrial waste disposal and reuse (IWDR) rule and to seek their input on the scope and general structure of the rule. Information on this past workshop is posted below. The next steps in this rulemaking effort will be posted when they are available.

While there is no draft IWDR Rule available at this time, the following paper summarizes some of the issues surrounding the purpose of this rule and outlines the Department's plans for rule development.

Proposed Amendments to Chapter 62-709, F.A.C., Criteria for the Production and Use of Compost Made from Solid Waste

The Department is addressing lesser requirements for facilities composting only yard trash, food waste and manures. A Compost Rule Technical Advisory Group has been formed to assist in the process of developing draft rule language.



Proposed Amendments to Chapter 62-716, F.A.C., Solid Waste Grants Program

These amendments would delete obsolete references to grants that no longer exist and add policies about the Innovate Recycling/Waste Reduction Grants.   For additional information follow this link.
